Riders Announced for Charlotte Dujardin Clinic


Caledon, ON - October 9, 2018 - Twelve talented Canadian riders have been selected to ride in an exclusive master class with Charlotte Dujardin. Six horse and rider combinations will be featured each day as Caledon Equestrian Park welcomes back the Olympic gold medallist for the dressage event of the year October 20th and 21st.

Hand-picked by Dujardin and her team from dozens of applicants, the chosen riders represent all levels from FEI 4-year-old to Grand Prix. The list includes Team Canada veterans such as Tom Dvorak, Jaimey Irwin and Evi Strasser, along and up-and-coming young riders such as Tanya Strasser-Shostak and Bobbie Kerr on a diverse range of horses, selected to provide an exciting learning experience for more than 1,000 eager spectators.

"We are very excited to welcome Charlotte back to Caledon Equestrian Park to work with this impressive group of Canadian riders and horses," said Craig Collins, managing partner of EMG. "The masterclass is designed not only to provide an exceptional learning opportunity for participants and spectators alike, but also to showcase the incredible depth of talent we have in the Canadian dressage community."

Just a few daily auditor and VIP table packages remain for the event. Auditors enjoy grandstand seating and a selection of breakfast items, sandwiches and refreshments. VIP tables offer ringside viewing for 10 people, a breakfast buffet, gourmet catered lunch and free parking. All spectators will have access to daily autograph sessions with Charlotte Dujardin and a vendor village showcasing a wide selection of tack, apparel, equipment, and giftware, as well as a pop-up shop featuring exclusive branded items created to commemorate the master class event.

Tom Dvorak

Horse: Cyrus

Owner: Carla Bahr

Tom began his riding career in his native Germany, before moving with his family to Canada. He has represented Canada at the World Equestrian Games, the Olympics, World Cups and the Olympics. He runs a busy training business in Hillsburgh, ON, and does clinics all over North America.

Inga Hamilton

Horse: Brigitte

Owner: The Brigitte Group

Inga was born in Germany and began riding at a young age. She completed her riding

apprenticeship there and worked briefly as an auction rider before immigrating to Canada in 1988. In Canada she has ridden and shown many horses successfully, from the lower levels through to the Grand Prix.

Jaimey Irwin

Horse: Fortissimo

Owner: Sybille Von Roeder

Jaimey is a successful Grand Prix rider and trainer and has represented North America at the FEI Reem Acra World Cup in Gothenburg, Sweden in 2013 with Lindor's Finest. He has a talented Grand Prix horse named, Donegal that he has developed from a three-year-old and the pair made their International Grand Prix debut this year with over 70%. Jaimey operates, Stoney Lake Equestrian with his wife, Tina in Stouffville, Ontario.

Bobbi Kerr

Horse: Iggi Pop

Owner: Bobbi Kerr

Bobbie is a USDF bronze and silver medalist, and is hoping to complete her gold medal in 2019. During her FEI young rider career, Bobbie had the opportunity to bring her own horse along from third level to Intermediare 1, and worked and rode for many top riders and trainers in North America. Bobbie is now training with FEI rider Tina Irwin on her new mount Iggi Pop. Although Bobbie and Iggi have only been together since May 2018, they competed at NAYC placing 4th in the FEI YR freestyle, and qualified for the US Festival of Champions in the FEI YR division.

Janine Little

Horse: Billionaire

Owner: Shawneen Jacobs

Janine is an FEI Grand Prix rider, named to Dressage Canada's Rider Development List in 2017, Short Listed to the Canadian team in 2011, Long Listed in 2010 and a declared rider for the 2012 Olympics as well as the 2011 and 2015 Pan Am Games. She competes actively on the winter circuit in Wellington Florida as well as showing across Canada and the USA the rest of the year and has earned top placings in Wellington, Tryon, Dressage at Devon, Bromont and Caledon Equestrian Park. Janine is aiming to declare Billionaire for the 2019 Pan Am Games.

Neil McIntosh

Horse: Juweel of Lichty

Owner: Harma Fraser and Jakob Germs

Now based in Quebec, Neil McIntosh is a British dressage rider with more than 20 years' experience in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, the USA and Canada

Magdalena Moyseowicz

Horse: Sam I Am

Owner: Magdalena Moyseowicz

When she was just 10 years old, Magdalena found work at a local barn where after school she mucked and cleaned horses in exchange for lessons. Once she graduated, she was able to purchase her first horse and continued training in dressage. Magdalena reached the Prix St George level and started working on Grand Prix movements under the mentorship of an Olympian rider, as well as being instructed by a 4* FEI judge.

Alexandra Reid

Horse: Jewel's Idokarde

Owner: Eliane Cordia van Reesema

Originally from Erin, Ontario Alex has been involved with horses from a very young age and successfully competed in her first national Grand Prix this past winter on the Wellington circuit. Alex was an individual bronze medalist at the 2012 NAJYRC and also completed her schooling as a dental hygienist. Alex was a working student for David Marus as well as a groom for Canadian rider Jill Irving and now has been working and riding for Eliane Cordia Van Reesema @ Jewel Court Stud, USA for the past two years.

Justin Ridgewell

Horse: Jolene

Owner: Rosemary Phelan

Justin started his career in dressage working along side Canadian Olympian Belinda Trussell where he was a working student and head groom for over 7 years. Currently based in Collingwood at Braeburn Farms with mentor John MacPherson, Justin is an FEI competitor, coach and EC sanctioned dressage judge. Justin currently competes at the CDI small tour level on Well Done, a horse that he has brought along from a 5-year-old to FEI status over the past 10 years. He has achieved EC bronze, silver and gold medals, as well as being one of the youngest in Canada to achieve an Equine Canada 'B' (basic) dressage judge status.

Evi Strasser

Horse: Disney Tyme

Owner: Evi Strasser

Evi Strasser is a Canadian Olympian based near Montreal, Quebec. Aboard a number of horses in which she trained, Evi has competed in the Olympic Games, World Equestrian Games, World Cup Finals, Pan Am Games, World Young Horse Championships, and more. She enjoys bringing along and competing talented young hoses from the lower levels through to the International Grand Prix level, with the continued goal of representing Canada in future games.

Tanya Strasser Shostak

Horse: Déjà vu Tyme

Owner: Evi Strasser/Erika Murphy

Tanya Strasser has competed extensively at the junior and young rider level with multiple NAJYRC individual, team and freestyle medals. She was a member on the U25 bronze medal team at the 2017 Nations Cup and was ranked in the top 4 in the 2018 U25 Nations Cup. She has since gone on with top 3 finishes in the under 25 Grand Prix at the CDI Crozet in France and CDI Donaueschingen Germany as well as a top 2 finish in the U25 at Hickstead.

Leah Wilkins

Horse: High Energy STH

Owner: Cindy Knoll

Leah Wilkins is an FEI rider from Mulmur, Ontario. Leah rose up through the Young

Rider program where she was a silver medallist at the 2007 NAYRC. Since 2004 Leah has been a short or long-listed rider with various horses. Most recently Leah has found success in the International Grand Prix ring with Fabian JS, including wins at the Global Dressage Festival in Wellington, FL. Leah has an undergraduate degree in Psychology and operates a training business near Shelburne, Ontario.

Charlotte Dujardin, CBE, is one of the world's most decorated athletes in the sport of dressage. Best known for her partnership with the renowned gelding Valegro, the pair holds three Olympic gold medals, the world record scores in all three Grand Prix dressage tests (Grand Prix, Grand Prix Special and Grand Prix Freestyle), and four consecutive World Cup titles. This week she is representing Great Britain at the World Equestrian Games on her rising superstar Mount St. John Freestyle.
