Eric Lamaze Takes Husky Energy Classic on Opening Day of Spruce Meadows ‘Continental’

Calgary, AB, Canada – The Spruce Meadows Summer Series continues with the ‘Continental’ CSI 5* Tournament, and it was Eric Lamaze (CAN) who took home the first big win of the week in the Husky Energy Classic 1.50m with Check Picobello Z. Calgary, AB, Canada – It was a beautiful day of top show jumping competition at the Spruce Meadows ‘National’, presented by Rolex. Spectators numbered 28,477 to see Ireland’s Conor Swail win the $500,000 RBC Grand Prix, presented by Rolex. It was the highlight event of the CSI 5* tournament, which concludes on Sunday, June 12. Eric Lamaze Selects Fine Lady 5 as Olympic Mount

Calgary, Alberta – 2008 Olympic Show Jumping Champion Eric Lamaze of Schomberg, ON, has selected Fine Lady 5 as his mount for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Lamaze was considering three horses for the upcoming Olympic Games, all owned by Andy and Carlene Ziegler’s Artisan Farms in partnership with Lamaze’s Torrey Pines Stable. Big numbers at Caledon Equestrian Park as luck of the Irish finally runs out

After two weeks of dominance by Lothlorien Farm and its pair of outstanding Irish-born riders, a few Canadians found themselves atop the standings during the second phase of the Classic @ Palgrave last week. The first two weeks of the outdoor season at Caledon Equestrian Park saw Conor Swail, and Lothlorien teammate Daniel Coyle, claim all seven of the first showcase classes of 2016. That streak ended in week three, starting with Orangeville’s Kim Farlinger claiming victory of the $10,000 Open Welcome, presented by Sprucewood, on Friday aboard Stanley Stone, owned by Sher-Al Farm.
